“Zwaantje Kurpershoek wrote a thesis in the form of an expanded letter to her Cat Nami. The letter acknowledges its flawed form – how can Nami connect to the language or respond, other than by coming or going, occasionally with a grass hopper or toad to bat about the kitchen floor. The text is an exploration of overlapping worlds, and is exciting to read as it is entirely genuine in its enquiry. It is about love, alienation, gaming, linguistics, learning, mathematical models. Most of all it posits meaning in habit and in loss.”
